Zasai beef gohan

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp groundnut oil
  • 150g rump steak, cut on the diagonal into thin strips
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • handful mangetout, thinly sliced
  • 4 spring onions, trimmed and sliced
  • 1/2 red pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1 red chilli, chopped
  • 8 baby sweetcorn, sliced
  • 6 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tbsp Chinese rice wine
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp light soy
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Method:

Heat wok until almost smoking. Add oil. Add beef and stir fry for 30 secs. Add garlic and vegetables, wine, salt, sugar, soy, oyster sauce and 75ml water. Stir fry for a few minutes.
Mix 1 tbsp cornflour with 2 tbsp water and stir into sauce. Bring to the boil then stir in the sesame oil.
Serve with rice or noodles
