Currywurst

Ingredients:

  • 4 Good quality hot dogs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cans of tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1/2 – 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Method:

This is hardly haute cuisine.  Basically all you need to do is make the sauce by adding the can of tomatoes with the paprika, onion powder, sugar and butter into a hot pan and reduce until you have a thick sauce.

Place the sauce when ready in a blender so you have a nice smooth consistency, any extra sauce can be frozen and used again.  Check for seasoning.

In the meantime cook the hotdogs.  Finish this classic Berlin dish by pouring the sauce over the sausage and then sprinkle with the curry powder, I would recommend yellow curry powder.

Serve with chips!
